Scheme objective
Strengthening the national cybersecurity ecosystem and fostering cybersecurity capacity building is of prior importance to ensure the resilience of Luxembourg's economy. The cascade funding scheme set up by the National Cybersecurity Competence Centre (NC3) - in its quality of National Coordination Centre (NCC-LU) - aims at supporting the creation, uptake and development of innovative cybersecurity start-ups, tools and services that will have a positive impact on the national cybersecurity ecosystem and on access and reinforcement of cybersecurity for SMEs.
Who can apply?
To apply for the NCC-LU cascade funding scheme, an organisation has to be a start-up or SME established in Luxembourg. The entity must provide cybersecurity services, solutions, or operate/design IT systems in their projects.
The lead time of proposed projects cannot exceed 6 months.
Proposed projects must be foreseen to significantly contribute to at least one of the 5 following focus areas:
- Create or develop cybersecurity start-ups;
- Increase the offer of affordable testing tools and services,both for infrastructure and products, so that they become accessible for SMB's;
- Support the setup of cybersecurity services with a sustainable open-source business model;
- Develop innovative approaches for facilitating the development of cybersecurity skills for SMBs(e.g. e-learning platforms);
- Develop easily accessible self-assessment toolswhich should cover key obligations of existing regulations (e.g. the EU Cybersecurity Act) and/or upcoming ones (e.g. the Cybersecurity Resilience Act);
Budget and financing
This scheme is co-funded by the European Commission through the digital Europe Programme (DEP) (50%) and National Funding (50%).
Eligible projects will be part-financed up to 80%, with a maximum grant of €60,000 per project.
